Comparisons

How Airward compares

We make Airward, so treat these as arguments rather than verdicts. Each one says plainly where the other tool is the better buy, because a comparison that never concedes anything is not worth reading.

At a glance

The four tools people shortlist together do not actually overlap much. This table is the short version; each comparison page goes into where the other tool wins.

How to choose

Two questions settle most of it.

  • Do you need an answer now, or an answer later? A scanner answers “what is on my network at this moment”. That is a different product from something that keeps watching once you have closed the window. If you only ever wanted the snapshot, a free scanner is the honest recommendation.
  • Does the inventory have to stay on your Mac? Cross-platform tools sync device lists through an account, which is what makes them cross-platform. Airward has no account and no server, which is why it cannot follow you onto a phone.

If the answer to both is “later, and locally”, Airward is the fit. If you want one app covering a phone and a laptop, or you are diagnosing a slow connection rather than an unfamiliar device, one of the others is the better buy — the individual pages say which.
