About

Who builds this

You are being asked to run a binary that inspects your network. That is a reasonable thing to be careful about, so here is exactly who builds it.

Who builds it

Airward is a product of PXL Security LTD, an independent offensive-security company based in Sofia, Bulgaria. PXL Security develops, maintains and supports the product.

The day job is offensive security: penetration testing, red teaming, vulnerability assessment and secure development. That is the whole reason this app exists. Rogue access points and unaccounted-for devices are things used against clients during engagements, with permission. The defensive tooling for the same problems is either enterprise software priced for enterprises, or a scanner that shows you a list and forgets it. Airward is the small, honest version.

PXL Security LTD is responsible for Airward, its product website and customer support. Product and security questions reach us at hello@airward.app.

What that background changes

Knowing what these attacks can and cannot do. That is why the site says an evil twin cannot read your encrypted traffic, and why Airward does not claim to “stop eavesdroppers”. Overstating a threat sells software; it also makes people trust the wrong things. The long version.

Knowing what noisy detection costs. A tool that alerts on everything gets muted in a week and protects nobody. Airward treats your first scan as a baseline and only raises what appears afterwards — a decision made after a first run produced 85 alerts in two minutes on an ordinary office network. It is in the changelog.

How Airward is built

  • Local only. Your device inventory lives in a database on your Mac. We operate no servers that receive network data — not as a policy we could quietly change, but as an architecture: there is nothing built to receive it.
  • Unprivileged. No admin password, no kernel extension, no root helper. It reads the neighbour table and makes ordinary connections, like any other app.
  • Signed and notarized with a Developer ID certificate, so macOS can verify it came from us and has not been modified.
  • Sold once. Pro is €39.99, one time. No subscription, no account.

What we will never do

Add telemetry. Sell or share anything about your network. Require an account to use what you bought. If any of that changes, it will be a different product with a different name, not a quiet update to this one.
